Lions minicamp highlights: Watch Jameson Williams snag deep shot from Jared Goff
Detroit Lions minicamp has been full of highlights from the first two days, but the team generally keeps those close to the vest. The Lions don’t post a ton of highlights from practices, which leaves fans only to imagine what has been happening based on observations posts from ourselves and others.
But on Wednesday, the Lions posted video of one of the bigger plays of the day. Toward the end of practice during 7-on-7 drills, Jared Goff hit Jameson Williams down the right sideline for a huge gain. Take a look:
This is one of those rare plays in which you can argue that everyone did their job well. Williams did a great job of locating the ball and fighting through the defender’s hands. Carlton Davis is in great coverage considering Williams’ speed and is completely in phase with him the entire time. And Jared Goff laid a beautiful ball placed only where Williams would have a shot at it.
After practice, Goff talked about how far his chemistry with Williams has come since last year.
“It’s been really good to see him do his thing,” Goff said. “I think this offseason has been unimpeded for him and it’s the first one he’s had. Having him out there with the ones, getting him used to all of this stuff, him and I getting on the same page more and more every single day. We’re starting to see that show up pretty consistently. Saw it a few times today. And, again, he’s a guy who’s become extremely hard on himself, too, and is holding himself to a really high standard, and that makes things easy to fall in line.”
And if that wasn’t enough offensive fireworks for you, then enjoy these touchdown passes to Amon-Ra St. Brown (from Goff) and Kalif Raymond (from Hendon Hooker).
