Jared Goff went to Jared to reward Detroit Lions OL with $11,000 watches

ALLEN PARK — Jared Goff loves his offensive line so much that he went to Jared after the season ended.

In a partnership that makes too much sense, Goff teamed up with Jared (the jeweler) to reward the vaunted Detroit Lions offensive line with “Breitling Super Chronomat” watches valued at about $11,500.

“Every second of this year was timeless,” the inscription on the box reads. “Thank you for a historic season and bringing gridiron glory back to Detroit. Enjoy this gift by Jared. From your Jared.”

WWD reports via Yahoo Sports that the partnership was formed at the Super Bowl festivities in Las Vegas. Claudia Cividino, president of the jeweler, told the outlet that the “We went to Jared” signs spotted around Ford Field throughout the season made them start paying attention to Goff and the red-hot Lions.

The two met in Las Vegas, where Cividino presented Goff with 11 watches, one for him and 10 others for his offensive line.

Goff had some help with this one. But it’s worth noting the Lions quarterback is not shy about giving his offensive linemen lavish gifts after the tough campaign. Last season, he bought a ton of gifts, including luxury bags, 4-wheelers, pizza ovens and more, then let the linemen pick their favorites, with the order determined by seniority.

And he already hooked the offensive linemen with gifts this season, for what it’s worth. Ahead of the NFC title game, Goff was asked if he needed to get the big fellas in the trenches anything extra after their extended run, and he agreed.

“Their gifts? They got their gifts at Christmas,” Goff said. “Yeah, you do it before the season extends. But those guys, I’ll make sure they’re well taken care of.

“No, I may have to (get them something more). That’s a good idea. I’ll have to think about that, yeah.”

Detroit’s offensive line is no ordinary group, either.

The Lions were a top-five offensive for the second consecutive season for a lot of reasons, but possibly none more vital than that group in the trenches.

Penei Sewell was named a first-team All-Pro for the first time of the 23-year-old’s career. And Frank Ragnow sits as the top-graded center through the season and playoffs, per Pro Football Focus. Taylor Decker finished in the top 10 in ESPN’s pass-block win rate metric. And Graham Glasgow ranked among the 10 best guards despite starting at three different spots from PFF, too.
