— The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of those involved in a fatal accident Sunday morning on Highway 10 in Becker County.

Fern Bernice Brown, 83, of Frazee, died in the crash. According to the State Patrol, she was attempting to cross Highway 10 from 290th Avenue in a 2004 Buick Lesabre and pulled out in front of an eastbound 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing the Jeep to hit the driver’s side of the Buick.

Two Wadena residents in the Jeep were injured — the driver, Jolene Gail Herr, 47, and a passenger, Jaden Joelle Herr, 21. Both went to the St. Mary’s Essentia Health emergency room in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt; airbags deployed in the Jeep, but not in the Buick. No alcohol was involved in the crash, which was reported shortly after 8 a.m. on dry pavement in Burlington Township.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
