Detroit TSA K-9 handler removed from duty after video shows him aggressively handling dog
(CBS DETROIT) – A TSA Ok-9 handler at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) has been faraway from his job pending an investigation after he was caught on digicam aggressively yanking a canine working at DTW.
Video of the incident circulated on social media over the weekend and was shared with native TSA management Monday morning.
The canine, an explosive detection canine, was taken to a veterinarian for a wellness examination.
A TSA spokesperson launched the next assertion on the incident:
“Video exhibiting a TSA explosive detection canine handler aggressively pulling a canine working in a Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) terminal was shared with native management this morning.
The conduct displayed by this handler is unacceptable and never throughout the excessive requirements we maintain our officers to.
TSA officers at DTW have eliminated the worker from dealing with duties pending completion of an investigation, and directed that the canine be taken instantly to a veterinarian for a wellness examination.”
