A Detroit man thought a scratch-off lottery ticket he purchased was a $1,000 winner – it was a $1 million winner.

The 25-year-old man who selected to stay nameless purchased the Triple Million Michigan Lottery ticket at Nook Liquor Shoppe at 334 West Kennett Rd. in Pontiac.

“I play immediate video games on a regular basis,” he stated. “I scratched my Triple Million ticket and thought I’d gained $1,000. I took the ticket again to the shop I’d purchased it at and had them verify it. When the cashier advised me it was a $1 million winner, I simply stared in shock at my good friend who was with me. I don’t have the phrases to explain the sensation that came to visit me!”
