Born in Detroit apparel company launches line to benefit Detroit Youth Choir

A limited-edition line of Detroit-centric clothing will help raise funds for the nonprofit group Detroit Youth Choir.

Born in Detroit apparel company T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other merchandise are branded with the phrase “Born in Detroit” employing the Detroit Youth Choir’s circular logo.

A portion of proceeds will help the nonprofit DYC, a longstanding after-school music and theater education program in the city that got a boost in 2019 with an appearance on “America’s Got Talent.” Led by director Anthony White, the Detroit Youth Choir, which is not affiliated with any one school, is also the subject of a new docuseries on Disney+.

The cobranded merchandise is priced $19.99-$49.99 and will be on sale through Feb. 25.

Born in Detroit Apparel LLC is a sister company of 8 Mile Vodka, which was founded in 2015 and uses the tagline “Born in Detroit.”
