WWII veteran returns home for final days with help from MetroHealth
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Because the final dwelling WWII Medal of Honor recipient nears his closing days, he can be resting in his own residence.
Hershel Woodrow ‘Woody’ Williams was the VIP passenger Saturday morning for the Metro Life Flight staff, alongside together with his grandson Brent.
In accordance with a hospital spokesperson, Williams was flown by two veterans again to Huntington, West Virginia.
Named in honor of the 98-year-old are the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Heart in addition to the USS Williams, a Navy warship.
“His legacy received’t quickly be forgotten,” the spokesperson mentioned of Williams in an electronic mail.
