Why Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had to wear Ohio State gear this week
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s defense turned on the jets in the second half of Saturday’s win over Maryland, ending any upset hopes with a few timely picks and key stops.
As a result, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had to pay up.
His little brother, Taulia, is the starting quarterback for the Terrapins, and because of the loss, Tua took to the press conference podium this week with an Ohio State sweatshirt on.
“Sometimes that’s how you win your team over, guys,” Tua said. “Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.”
The Dolphins currently have former Buckeyes Eli Apple and Jerome Baker on the roster, meaning that there wasn’t much room to hide for Tua after the Ohio State victory.
And in case you were curious: Ohio State is set to take on Purdue this week, and the Boilermakers’ starting quarterback, Hudson Card, doesn’t have a brother currently on an NFL roster.
