COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football will make seven-figure payments to New Hampshire and Northern Illinois for home games in 2027 and 2028, respectively.

The contract for the Sept. 11, 2027, game against New Hampshire calls for one lump sum payment of $1 million. That game against coach Ryan Day’s alma mater is the only one involving an FCS opponent on future schedules.

That payment is $200,000 more than what OSU paid another FCS program, Youngstown State, this season.

The contract for the Sept. 16, 2028, game against Northern Illinois calls for a $1.8 million payment in five installments. The first four are to be paid every Feb. 28 from 2023-26, with the first two payments totaling $250,000 and the final two totaling $300,000. The remaining sum of $700,000 is to be paid 60 days after the game.

That contract equates to what OSU paid another Group of Five program, Western Kentucky, for this season’s game.
