Warehouse in flames housed company owned by former Browns player
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland firefighters are battling a warehouse fire early Thursday on the city’s east side.
Cleveland firefighters say they arrived at the scene at 5476 Lake Court, where the linen company The Clean Group was fully involved.
The company website lists former browns player Joe Jurevicius as the president.
Cleveland fire Public Information Officer Mike Norman said firefighters responded around 3:45 a.m. after calls came in from people passing by.
Norman said 11 companies and a total of 55 firefighters responded to the fire.
No injuries were reported, according to Norman, and there was no one in the building at the time of the fire.
Norman told reporters firefighters took a defensive attack against the large body of fire and that no firefighters entered the building.
A second building, east of the fire, did not become involved in the fire.
It is unclear what caused the fire as of Tuesday morning.
Cleveland police say East 55th Street is closed off south of the I-90 exit and north of St Clair Avenue.
