CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – According to Federal Court documents filed in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, State Attorney General Dave Yost wants to be involved in the Browns lawsuit with the city over the Modell Law.

19 News just obtained a court filing where the state says the team’s understanding of the state statute “is wrong.”

The city vowed to use the Modell Law to keep the Browns from moving to Brook Park.

The law requires teams that get taxpayer money to give at least six months’ notice before leaving.. or someone else a chance at buying the team.
