CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Several Northeast Ohio school districts closed on Tuesday and at least two of the districts closed for safety concerns.

A release from the Lorain Police Department says they were notified by the FBI that a threat against the school had been posted on social media.

Detectives with the department obtained a confession from a 12-year-old girl just after 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The girl claimed to have written the post as a joke, police say.

The suspect was released after police confirmed she had no means to follow through with the threat, officers say, and she has received a summons to appear in juvenile court for inducing panic.

Clearview Local Schools officials in Lorain County closed Clearview High School and Durling Middle School due to a bomb threat made against the high school.
