CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Rite Aid confirmed Monday the company is slated to close all but four of its Ohio drugstore locations.

“Nearly all of our stores in Ohio will be closing by the end of September,” a Rite Aid spokesperson said to 19 News.

The company shared this list of the four locations that will remain in operation:

  • 419 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, Ohio
  • 735 North Water Street, Uhrichsville, Ohio
  • 1955 Cleveland Road, Wooster, Ohio
  • 1045 Wheeling Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections in 2023 in connection to lawsuits and losses, according to the Associated Press.

The drugstore retailer has been closing locations since its bankruptcy announcement.

According to a spokesperson, most prescriptions and pharmacy inventory will be transferred to Walgreens to reduce disruption of service.

Rite Aid says the impacted stores will maintain normal pharmacy operations up to and including their last day of business.

“We are fully committed to helping our customers make the transition to their new pharmacy,” the spokesperson said.
