Ohio town ranked among best U.S. cities for singles, report says

If you’re single and ready to mingle, there’s some evidence behind something you’ve likely already noticed: The dating scene is better in some cities than others, according to new report.

Fortunately for those in Ohio, one of the best cities for dating in the U.S. is located right here in the Buckeye State.

Cincinnati, Ohio, is the 13th-best U.S. city for singles, according to a report from WalletHub.

The report, Best and Worst Cities for Singles 2024, compared 182 U.S. cities across three categories: Economics, such as the average cost of a restaurant meal, cocktail, movie tickets, and more; fun and recreation, including the number of restaurants, social clubs, and coffee and tea shops per capita; and dating opportunities, including share of single population, singles gender balance, and online dating opportunities.

By category, Cincinnati ranked 25th in fun and recreation, 34th in dating opportunities, and 67th in economics.

Beyond Cincinnati, four other Ohio cities ranked among the 182 cities compared, though some fared better than others. Columbus ranked 34th overall, Cleveland placed 64th, Toledo was 66th, and Akron ranked 112th, according to WalletHub’s report.

By individual metric, Cleveland ranked as having the third-highest share of singles among U.S. cities, behind only Detroit, Michigan, and top-ranking Burlington, Vermont. However, Cleveland also ranked as having the fifth-fewest online dating opportunities, placing 178th out of the 182 cities compared.
