Ohio students who threaten schools, could be suspended for year

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Ohio lawmakers recently passed a bill that could allow school districts to expel students or hand them year long suspensions if they make social media threats or hit lists.

Ohio House Bill 206 was passed on Wednesday by the Ohio House of Representatives. it will now head to the Ohio Senate.

Under the bill, before the student is allowed to return to class, they must be examined by a psychiatrist to determine if they are a danger to themselves or others.
