Multiple injured after car strikes Cleveland RTA bus

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A car crashed into a Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority bus Friday night on the city’s east side, according to a GCRTA spokesperson.

Bob Fleig of the GCRTA confirmed that around 9 p.m. near East 26th Street and St. Clair Avenue, a car ran a red light striking a RTA bus.

GCRTA Transit Police, Cleveland Fire and EMS responded to the scene following the crash.

According to Fleig, the car’s driver was transported to MetroHealth Hospital.

Cleveland Fire said a 51-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth Hospital and a 17-year-old girl was taken to University Hospitals.

Three others refused treatment and transport, according to Cleveland Fire

The bus operated is okay, according to Fleig.

GCRTA told 19 News the security footage would be released in the coming days.
