Man convicted of murder, other violent incidents sentenced for Cuyahoga County crime spree

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A repeat violent offender confronted a Cuyahoga County decide for sentencing on Tuesday.

Gregory Hoyett was sentenced to life in jail with parole eligibility after 36 years.

Courtroom information present that Hoyett pleaded responsible on Could 9 to the next costs:

• 1 rely of aggravated homicide
• 2 counts of aggravated assault
• 1 rely of getting weapons whereas underneath incapacity
• 1 rely of theft
• 1 rely of getting weapons whereas underneath incapacity

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Workplace stated the felony costs stem from three separate incidents.

On Nov. 13, 2020, the 28-year-old suspect fatally shot a 63-year-old East 134th Avenue resident whereas he was engaged on a house gutter venture with relations.

Hoyett then fled the scene.

Investigators stated Hoyett was concerned in a December 2020 altercation with a 54-year-old man on an RTA bus when he shot him within the legs in Maple Heights close to the intersection of Franklin Highway and Clampher Avenue.

The sufferer did survive the incident.

In response to the prosecutor’s workplace, Hoyett was linked to the taking pictures by DNA on a masks that was left behind on the crime scene.
