Jake Berry signs with Cleveland Guardians
As a Virginia native Berry came to UVA as the no. 4 ranked lefty in the country. Berry proved to be worthy of his high grade, becoming one of the most consistent closers during his three seasons with the Cavaliers. This past season the big man out of the bullpen recorded a 3.93 ERA with 60 strikeouts, giving up just 22 earned runs in 50.1 innings pitched. Berry played a pivotal role in UVA’s return to Omaha as he was credited with 6 saves, including closing out a 2-1 win over ECU in regionals.
