Invasive lanternfly that can cause ‘some serious damage’ spotted in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Consultants stated an invasive insect was noticed not too long ago in Cleveland.

In line with the Ohio Division of Agriculture, the noticed lanternfly was found hatching from egg plenty close to Cleveland West 117th Avenue.

Noticed lanternflies may be harmful to bushes or crops, and might trigger points like molding and wilting.

Sightings of a noticed lanternfly may be reported to the Ohio Division of Agriculture at 614-728-6400.
