Governor’s office says cyber incident over as Cleveland Muni Court still closed
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Governor Mike DeWine’s office sent 19 News a statement Tuesday saying the Ohio National Guard has completed its mission involving the cyber attack at Cleveland Municipal Court, and yet the courts remain closed.
The governor’s office released the following statement:
According to the statement, the “eradication operations” ended on Friday, but Cleveland Municipal Court was still closed Monday and Tuesday this week.
In fact, representatives from Muni. Court told 19 News the courts would be closed “until further notice.”
19 News reached out to Cleveland Municipal Court to see why the court is still closed after the Ohio National Guard and Ohio Cyber Response Force finished their mission.
The municipal court was also closed all last week for the incident.
“We are working 24/7 in an effort to rectify the situation,” a release last week said.
Cleveland Muni’s system is shut down as they work to secure and restore it.
“These systems will remain offline until we have a better understanding of the situation,” Negray said last week.
