FirstEnergy wants to increase fees from customers to pay for grid improvements
CLEVELAND, Ohio — FirstEnergy wants to invest in its grid, avoid more power outages and create new energy efficiency programs, but the same proposal would also give customers pricier electricity bills each month.
The average customer in Greater Cleveland would pay anywhere from $2.35 to $4 more each month starting in June 2024 if state regulators approve the electric security plan filed by FirstEnergy. But the exact number could change as the regulatory process plays out.
