Driver loses control of car at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, I-X Center

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A woman was arrested Monday afternoon after she crashed her car into a gate and fencing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Airport spokesperson Michelle Dynia said staff was on scene within minutes and “out of an abundance of caution,” an airfield ground stop was issued.

After crashing through the fence, the woman drove next door to the I-X Center.

The vehicle ended up behind a fence near a vintage plane on display outside the I-X Center.

Police have not released the name of the woman.

Dynia added the ground stop was lifted after about 30 minutes and operations resumed. Crews have begun repairs to the fence.
