Driver flees after running over woman who had fallen in the road, Cuyahoga Falls police say

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WOIO) – A woman suffered “significant injuries” after being run over by a hit and run driver Tuesday evening, Cuyahoga Falls police said.

Cuyahoga Falls Police Captain Gary Merton said the victim was walking on the sidewalk in the area of 2nd Street and Stow Avenue just before 9 p.m. when she tripped.

The victim got back on her feet, but tripped again and ended up partially in the street, said Captain Merton.

Before she could get up again, she was struck by a silver Ford hatchback traveling northeast on 2nd Street.

Captain Merton said after the accident, the driver fled without stopping.

The victim’s name has not been released.
