Cleveland Sports Commission announces bid for 2030 Special Olympics

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Sports Commission announced Tuesday that a bid has been put in to host the 2030 Special Olympics.

An announcement from the commission says over 5,500 athletes and coaches from around the country would come to Cleveland to compete.

A release from the commission says the bid provides an opportunity to host, “one of the most significant gatherings our region has ever seen.”

The commission has set up a website to make a pledge to support the 2030 event.
