Buckeyes Earn Three Titles at Storm Open – Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three Buckeyes won titles at the Storm Open, hosted by Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, Sunday. 

Redshirt sophomore Andre Gonzales took the title in the 133-pound bracket while Carter Chase (R-Fr./165) and Gavin Bell (R.-Jr./184) also won championships in their brackets at the event. 

Gonzales took the title with a 17-6 win by major decision over Chase McLaughlin of Gannon University (unattached). Chase also scored a major decision win (11-1) over Mason Alessio of Central Michigan.  

Bell eared his title with a 15-0 win by technical fall over Ricky Legg of Ashland University. 

Freshman T.J. Schierl took fifth at 157 with a 3-1 record.
