Brazil to face Egypt in ‘Road to 26 game’ at Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio soccer fans are in for a treat later this year as Egypt takes on Brazil as part of the Road to 26 series at Huntington Bank Field.

“Road to 26 is a new U.S.-based international match series created to showcase the world’s top national teams,” a press release reads. “Co-promoted by Florida Citrus Sports (FCS), Unified Events, Pitch International and Lions Sports & Media, Road to 26 delivers premium match experiences while connecting global supporters to the beautiful game in America.”

The game occurs at 6 p.m. on June 6, with kickoff time subject to change.

These two teams have not played one another since 2011 and have only faced off half a dozen times since 1960. Brazil has won every matchup, according to the release.

“Cleveland is no stranger to hosting big events,” the release reads. “Last April, the city made history when the Columbus Crew hosted Inter Miami at Huntington Bank Field and set a new club attendance record (60,614). The crowd was also the largest for a non-NFL event at the home of the Cleveland Browns.”

Here’s when and where fans can catch other games in the Road to 26 series:

  • Brazil vs. France at 4 p.m. on March 26 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts
  • Colombia vs. Croatia at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida
  • Colombia vs. France at 3 p.m. on March 29 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland
  • Brazil vs. Croatia at 8 p.m. on March 31 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida
