‘A Christmas Story’-themed dinner planned at Great Lakes Brewing Co.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Great Lakes Brewing Co. has scheduled two dates for its annual holiday brewmaster’s dinner.

This year’s five-course meal is inspired by “A Christmas Story,” the classic 1983 film shot partially in Cleveland.

The brewery is holding the dinner on successive Tuesdays – Dec. 12 and Dec. 19. It starts at 6 p.m.

Miss Shields’ Fruit Basket

Mixed fruit and goat-cheese salad – mixed greens, apples, dried cranberries, dried pineapple, mandarin orange, candied walnuts, goat cheese, Cran Orange Wheat vinaigrette. Pairing: Moondog ESB.

Bumpus Hound Aftermath

Peking duck egg rolls with plum sauce – duck, cabbage, carrot, celery, onion. Pairing: Barrel-aged Tripel Dog Dare.

You’ll Shoot Your Pie Out!

Vegetable pot pie – pie crust, potato, carrot, turnip, parsnip, onion, “Red Ryder” tomato-cream sauce. Pairing: Cran Orange Wheat.

Meatloaf, Shmeatloaf

Meatloaf – potato purée, grass-fed beef, pickled purple cabbage. Pairing: Christmas Ale.

OH, FUDDDGE!

Cookie Exchange Milk Stout fudge, rich chocolatey Ovaltine shooter. Pairing: Cookie Exchange Milk Stout.
