6 shot in East Cleveland near Shaw High School; $5K reward offered for information

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – East Cleveland Police Chief Ken Lundy confirmed multiple people were injured in a shooting near Euclid Avenue and Shaw Avenue Monday morning.

According to a press release from Acting Police Chief Lundy, East Cleveland Police (ECPD) were dispatched to the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Collamer Avenue just after 1 a.m.

ECPD said they found a man with a gunshot wound at the scene. Police also found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.

Both victims were transported to the hospital, according to the release.

Just after 2 a.m., ECPD officers were at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Shaw Avenue when they heard gunfire at the Mobil gas station on the 15100 block of Euclid Ave., according to the release.

The release said at least three gunshot victims were taken to the hospital by either police or a private vehicle.

At 2:30 a.m. ECPD were dispatched to the 1300 block of Elwood Road where they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was also taken to the hospital.

ECPD said victim conditions are currently unknown.

No suspects have been arrested in connection to the shootings, according to the release.

Acting Chief Lundy said the three shootings are unconnected.

East Cleveland was also hosting a Shaw High School reunion over the weekend, according to East Cleveland City Council President Antwon Billings. Police have not confirmed if the reunion is connected to the shootings.

All of the shootings are under investigation, according to Chief Lundy.
