21-year-old found shot dead in car after crashing into pole on Cleveland’s east side

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 21-year-old man was found shot dead in a car on Cleveland’s east side Friday night.

According to Cleveland Police, officers responded to a call for shots fired in the 11600 block of Durant Avenue around 9:45 p.m. on Friday.

A 911 caller reported hearing gunshots and what sounded like a car crash, according to police.

When officers arrived they found a car had crashed into a pole.

Inside the car officers found the body of a dead 21-year-old with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers confirmed the man was unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the man as Ronald Cameron.

Police also found a firearm inside the vehicle.

The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
