1 killed, 1 injured in 2 vehicle crash with fire on I-480 in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A two-car crash with a fire killed one person on I-480 East and State Road Thursday night.

According to Cleveland Police, the crash happened around 11:15 p.m. when a vehicle stopped in the eastbound lane of I-480 was struck from behind.

Police said the struck vehicle was engulfed in flames as a result of the collision.

The driver of the struck vehicle, a 61-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The driver of the other car, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said this information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
