1 dead after crash backs up Cleveland traffic as fans head downtown for 3 main events
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Traffic on I-90 has backed up as fans flood into downtown Cleveland for three events.
A crash on I-90 eastbound at East 55th Street has traffic down to two lanes.
Officials say the four-car crash happened around 6:30 p.m.
A 30-year-old woman was taken to University Hospitals in critical condition, according to EMS. A 60-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth Hospital in stable condition.
Police confirmed one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are directing traffic downtown to move drivers through the city.
Friday night, the city is welcoming Nicki Minaj at Rocket Mortgage Field House, Billy Joel and Rod Stewart at Huntington Bank Field and the Guardians take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Progressive Field.
