CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – One person is dead and three people are injured following a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in downtown Cleveland, according to investigators.
Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz says officers responded to the 1400 block of St. Clair Avenue at approximately 3 a.m. for the shooting.
Officers found a 19-year-old man, 24-year-old man, 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman with gunshot wounds, Diaz says.
EMS transported all victims to local hospital, where the 28-year-old died of his injuries.
The deceased has not been identified.
“This senseless act of violence does not and will not define our great city,” said Chief Public Safety Director Wayne Drummond. “We will utilize all our technological resources to piece together this incident, and our investigators will work to find answers for those affected by this senseless act.”
The shooting occurred just days after Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb announced the city’s summer safety plan, highlighted with an increased focus on public safety.

Diaz says no arrests have been made. The motive of the shooting is also unclear.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Human remains were found in the rear yard of a home on Strathmore Avenue early Monday morning, according to a Cuyahoga County spokesperson.
According to Jennifer Ciaccia, Press Secretary, Director of Communications for Cuyahoga County, deputies were executing a search warrant in connection with a woman reported missing out of Warrensville Heights.
The woman’s name has not been released.
On Saturday, June 1, deputies also executed a search warrant in the 14200 block of Potomac Avenue in connection with the missing woman.

The remains were brought to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office.
Agents with the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Crime Scene Unit were requested by the sheriff’s department to process the scene and collect evidence.

My Morning Jacket has announced a run of four shows this fall in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Ohio.
After spending most of September on the road with Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats on their co-headlining Eye to Eye Tour, My Morning Jacket will play four headlining shows starting September 30th at Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah, GA. From there, the band will travel to Knoxville, TN to perform at Tennessee Theatre on October 1st. The show in Savannah and Knoxville will also feature special guest S.G. Goodman.
Then, MMJ will join up with special guest Jade Bird for shows at Maymont in Richmond, VA on October 4rd and Cain Park Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland, OH on October 4th.
