‘Trying to get it done’: Highland Park mom to meet with senators in effort to combat gun violence

HIGHLAND PARK, In poor health. (WLS) — A Highland Park mother is on a mission to fight gun violence.

Ashbey Beasley and her 6-year-old son, Beau, have been at this 12 months’s 4th of July parade throughout the capturing that killed seven folks and injured dozens of others.

She was not bodily harm throughout the assault, however stated she’s now devoting her life to stopping gun violence.

Beasley will head to the nation’s capital subsequent week to induce lawmakers to co-sign a federal assault weapons ban.

“That is actually the prime time that we’re hitting the bottom with this and making an attempt to get it accomplished. Each legislator who co-signed the assault weapons ban invoice gained their election,” Beasley stated.

Beasley is ready to fulfill with Senators Kelly, Sinema, and Toomey throughout her upcoming journey to Washington, D.C.

She’s beforehand met with a-dozen different lawmakers.
