Tire smashes through semi windshield on outbound I-55 in Southwest Suburbs; minor injuries reported
CHICAGO (WLS) — A tire smashed via the windshield of a semi within the outbound lanes of the Stevenson Expressway Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred close to the first Avenue on outbound I-55 between Summit and McCook. The tire could possibly be seen embedded within the truck’s windshield on the driving force’s facet.

Illinois State Police mentioned round 3:30 p.m. a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving within the northbound lanes when it misplaced its rear driver’s facet tire. The tire traveled throughout all lanes and struck the semi, which was driving on the southbound facet of I-55.
The semi-driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening accidents. ISP didn’t say whether or not the driving force of the Tahoe sustained any accidents.
