Round Lake Beach police shooting: Officer shoots at boy holding fake gun

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ailing. (WLS) — A boy was not injured after a Spherical Lake Seaside police officer shot at him whereas he was holding a faux gun Wednesday night time within the north suburb, police stated.

Spherical Lake Seaside police stated officers responded to the 1300-block of Ridgeway Avenue simply earlier than 6 p.m. for a report of an individual with a gun. The witness who known as police advised dispatchers the boy had a gun in his hand and had pointed it at him, police stated.

When police arrived, they confronted the boy, who turned and pointed the alleged firearm at them, based on police. One officer fired a shot on the boy, however missed him.

The boy was taken into custody with out additional incident and brought to Advocate Condell Medical Middle in Libertyville for remark.

The officer was transported to Northwestern Emergency Medical Middle in Grayslake for remark and has been launched.

In the course of the investigation into the taking pictures, police decided the gun was a duplicate firearm that seemed precisely like a handgun, police stated.

Police didn’t present any extra details about the boy’s age or identification.
