Lincoln Park Zoo’s 25-year-old rhinoceros, Ricko, dies of acute illness

CHICAGO — Officers introduced Ricko, a 25-year-old jap black rhinoceros, died Friday on the Lincoln Park Zoo.

“It’s with deep disappointment that we share the lack of Ricko,” the zoo introduced in a press release on Fb. “Ricko offered with an acute sickness, and regardless of intensive therapy and supportive care supplied by Veterinary and Animal Care workers, he died on April 8.”

Ricko arrived on the zoo in 2009 from the zoo in Birmingham, Alabama, the assertion mentioned.

“We invite you to share fond reminiscences of Ricko. Our sympathies to Animal Care and Veterinary workers who cared for Ricko, and to everybody to whom he was particular,” the assertion mentioned.
