CHICAGO (WLS) — In Chicago, we regularly hear of children and teenagers impacted by violence. There are numerous neighborhood teams working to offer teenagers a secure place to go and develop. A type of teams is Children Off the Block.

Diane Latiker is the group’s founder. Along with giving youngsters a secure place, she works to ensure they’ve the sources they must be profitable.

“We imagine that the most effective factor on the earth to fight violence is giving them one thing they like to do,” mentioned Latiker.

That was true for Daqwon Hargrove. He discovered Children Off the Block when he was 11, because of their basketball court docket.
