HOUSTON, Texas — Yordan Alvarez hit a towering go-ahead homer and the Houston Astros clinched their second World Sequence title in six seasons and obtained Dusty Baker his first crown as a supervisor with a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Recreation 6 on Saturday evening.

As Alvarez’s 450-foot blast within the sixth inning disappeared, Astros starter Framber Valdez jumped and wildly screamed within the dugout as followers within the crowd of 42,948 went right into a frenzy waving their orange rally towels.

Baker lastly obtained his first title in his twenty fifth season as a supervisor, the previous three since being employed by the Astros to assist the crew regain credibility after the sign-stealing scandal that price supervisor A.J. Hinch and common supervisor Jeff Luhnow their jobs, and made Houston essentially the most reviled crew in baseball.

The 73-year-old Baker, who had been to the World Sequence twice earlier than as a skipper, is the oldest championship supervisor.
