Elmhurst police investigating possible hate crime after swastikas painted on home

ELMHURST, Ailing. (WLS) — Elmhurst police are investigating a doable hate crime after swastikas have been spray-painted on a west suburban residence.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, Elmhurst police responded to a house within the 400-block of North Oak Avenue for a report of symbols of hate spray-painted on two storage doorways and one automotive parked within the residence’s driveway.

Police imagine three swastikas have been spray-painted in purple paint someday between 9:45 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

The victims didn’t see any prior suspicious exercise or threats, Elmhurst police stated.

Investigators are working to find out if the house was particularly focused.

Police are asking anybody with residence safety video methods in or close to the neighborhood to examine for suspicious individuals or autos that will have been recorded.
