Elmhurst dad, daughter describe moment they were struck by lightning: ‘I thought my dad was dead’
Ashley Moberg and her father went to Florida to go to Disney World and catch a number of Yankees spring coaching video games.

However as they ran from a thunderstorm at Steinbrenner Area in Tampa on Saturday, the dream journey turned a nightmare after they discovered themselves below a tree and unable to find their automotive.
“There was a shiny flash and a loud increase that I heard, and the subsequent factor I knew I used to be flying out of my sneakers and my ears had been ringing,” Moberg stated. “I noticed my dad hit his head on the bottom, then I hit the bottom. I assumed my dad was lifeless for about 10 seconds there whereas I used to be mendacity on the pavement attempting to determine whether or not I had died.”

Her father hit the bottom, breaking his cheekbone. The necklace Ashley was carrying burned by means of her pores and skin on the again of her neck.
“My dad was knocked unconscious so he would not bear in mind most of it,” Moberg stated. “He has me doing all of the speaking.”
They returned to the place it occurred on Monday, this time smiling and with a humorousness.
“Nicely, for everybody who’s asking, sure, we received tremendous powers and no, we’re not allowed to speak about them,” Moberg stated.
Ashley is a graduate of York Neighborhood Excessive College. She and her father at the moment are safely again in Elmhurst.
