Chicago weather radar: Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Warnings in effect

CHICAGO (WLS) — A line of extreme thunderstorms that fashioned alongside the Illinois-Wisconsin border Tuesday afternoon is prompting warnings because it strikes towards the town.

The Nationwide Climate Service has issued a Extreme Thunderstorm Warning for Prepare dinner, DuPage and Will counties till 7:30 p.m.

A Extreme Thunderstorm Watch is in impact for Prepare dinner, De Kalb, DuPage, Lake, McHenry and Will counties till 8 p.m.

There may be some low-level rotation within the two supercell storms which have prompted warnings, however to this point no funnel clouds have been noticed, ABC7 Meteorologist Larry Mowry mentioned. The storms are shifting southeast at about 30 to 40 mph.

The storms may produce 60 mph winds and hail over 1 inch in diameter, in keeping with NWS.

Footage shared on social media confirmed a number of bushes snapped alongside Route 38 in west suburban Geneva.
