Chicago shootings: 2 teens among 9 shot in weekend gun violence across city, police say
CHICAGO (WLS) — Two teenagers are amongst 9 individuals wounded in shootings throughout Chicago over the weekend, police stated.
Two teen boys had been injured in a Saturday morning taking pictures on the town’s Southwest Facet, Chicago police stated.
The taking pictures occurred within the Brighton Park neighborhood’s 3800 block of South Archer Avenue at about 10:50 a.m., police stated. Two 17-year-old boys had been strolling down the road when a car approached and somebody inside fired photographs.
One sufferer, shot within the again, was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical situation, police stated. The second sufferer, shot within the shoulder and foot, was taken to the identical hospital in good situation.
The car concerned within the taking pictures fled in an unknown route, police stated. Nobody is in custody and space detectives are investigating.
Police didn’t instantly present additional details about the incident.
A number of hours later, a 60-year-old girl was shot in Woodlawn.
The incident occurred about 6:10 p.m. as she was standing exterior of her car within the 6400 block of South Eberhart Avenue when a dark-colored SUV approached and somebody inside opened hearth, police stated.
She was taken to the College of Chicago Medical Heart with gunshot wounds to the finger, shin and buttocks, police stated. She was reportedly in good situation.
At the very least seven different individuals have been wounded by gunfire since Friday at 6 p.m.
