Chicago police officer fires shot at suspect during NW Side foot chase: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) — A Chicago police officer fired a shot at a suspect after a foot pursuit on the town’s Northwest Aspect Thursday evening, police mentioned.

Police obtained a report of photographs fired at about 11 p.m. close to the 2200-block of North Lamon Avenue within the Cragin neighborhood.

Officers arrived on the scene and encountered a person who matched the suspect’s description who then ran away from officers, police mentioned.

Throughout a brief foot pursuit, an officer fired a shot, however nobody was struck, police mentioned.

A suspect was taken into custody. Police mentioned a handgun was recovered on the suspect and one other handgun was discovered within the space.

No accidents had been reported.

Space 5 detectives are investigating. The Civilian Workplace of Police Accountability can also be investigating the shot fired by police.
