Chicago police investigating break-ins at Loop Macy’s, Lenscrafters

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are investigating break-ins on the Macy’s on State Avenue and a Michigan Avenue Lenscrafters Tuesday morning.

Police haven’t mentioned if the break-ins are associated.

Police responded to a reported housebreaking on the Macy’s within the first block of North State Avenue at about 4:28 a.m. and located damaged glass on the west facet of the shop.

A safety officer instructed officers that two suspects broke in and tried to take sun shades, however dropped them after being confronted by the guard. The suspects then fled the scene in a white van with a 3rd suspect ready inside.

At about 4:59 a.m., one other break-in was reported within the 200-block of North Michigan Avenue the place thieves broke the entrance glass window of a Lenscrafters retailer. The suspects took merchandise from the shop and fled in an unknown path.

Nobody is in custody in reference to both break-in. Space Three detectives are investigating.
