Chicago police exchange shots with suspect on NW Side; 2 in custody

It was a busy morning for police on Chicago’s Northwest Aspect after officers exchanged gunfire with a suspect.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago cops exchanged gunfire with a suspect after a visitors accident on the Northwest Aspect Friday morning, police stated.

Police stated officers noticed the crash within the 5200-block of North Nagle Avenue at about 3:09 a.m. and went to render help. As officers approached, police stated a male suspect fired pictures and officers from contained in the automobile.

An officer returned hearth, however neither the officers nor the suspect had been hit, police stated.

Two suspects then fled from the automobile on foot west by means of an alley and had been positioned into custody.

CPD searched a roof above a small strip mall and took somebody down on a stretcher. It’s not identified if it is likely one of the suspects concerned.

A resident stated he was woke up by the sounds of sirens.

“One thing woke me up,” resident Frank Maldonado stated. “I did rise up, appeared out the window and noticed the police right here. Did not hear if there have been pictures fired or one thing, I do not know, however once I got here right here, it appeared like they had been on the lookout for one thing. I seen they had been up on the roof behind me. There was some commotion. They had been telling folks to get on the bottom.”
