Belle Isle Park Giant Slide reopens after viral videos show children flying into air, landing hard

DETROIT — Officers at Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Michigan, mentioned adjustments have been made to the park’s Big Slide.

Movies from Friday, the day it reopened, confirmed kids flying into air and touchdown down exhausting, sparking issues over security.

Although no accidents had been reported, park officers closed the slide simply hours after it had opened and mentioned they had been “going to be making some changes to the velocity that we now have seen customers coming down.”

On Sunday, the park mentioned they’d “scrubbed down the floor and began to spray a bit water on the slide between rides to assist management the velocity” and posted this video displaying a park worker demonstrating “tips on how to experience the Big Slide.”

Although wet climate saved the slide closed that Sunday, the park urged folks to strive it out over the 2 weekends forward.
