The Corporation of the Town of Pelham has received, for the fourth consecutive year, an Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2022 annual financial report, which was submitted for consideration in 2023.

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Program was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“It is encouraging to have the Town of Pelham’s Annual Report receive this recognition again,” said Treasurer and Director of Corporate Services Teresa Quinlin-Murphy. “The team of dedicated individuals who work to ensure the report is easily readable and organized reflects the commitment to the continued prioritization of financial strength and sustainability for Pelham.”

Impartial Canadian Review Committee members have judged the annual financial report to meet the program’s high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” designed to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
