‘The Joy Luck Club’ may be getting a sequel | CNN

Nearly 30 years after the groundbreaking Asian American movie “The Pleasure Luck Membership” launched, plans are being made for a brand new film that can meet up with the characters from the unique.

In line with Deadline, a sequel is in growth with Oscar-winning screenwriter Ron Bass and writer Amy Tan that can proceed the story based mostly on her bestselling novel of the identical title.

The 1993 movie starred Rosalind Chao, Lisa Lu, Tamlyn Tomita, and Ming-Na Wen. It informed the multi-generational story of a gaggle of Chinese language moms and their Chinese language American daughters.
