British pop star Ed Sheeran has revealed he filmed his newest music video in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, simply days earlier than Russia invaded the nation.

The singer-songwriter launched the video for his monitor 2step, that includes rapper Lil Child, Friday morning on his official YouTube channel.

Earlier than the music begins, a written message from the star seems on the display screen in black and white.

In it, the 31-year-old Grammy winner explains he filmed the video in Kyiv earlier than “the devastating acts of violence began.”

“It was my first time visiting the nation and I felt so welcomed…” he stated.

“Ukraine is a proud and resilient nation and I’m grateful to have had the possibility to movie my video there.

“I stand with Ukraine, and will likely be donating my document royalties from YouTube streams of the video to the DEC’s [The Disasters Emergency Committee] Ukraine Humanitarian Attraction,” the singer added.

The monitor 2step is the most recent from Sheeran’s album “=” (pronounced “equals”), which he launched in 2021.
