ORILLIA, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Cyber-Enabled Fraud Team is investigating an investment scam involving fake cryptocurrency investments that have resulted in victims losing hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The public is warned not to engage with the following websites:

Reporting and Assistance

If you or someone you know has interacted with these websites, please contact your local police service and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center at 1-888-495-8501 or visit antifraudcenter.ca.

Protect Yourself

  • Irrecoverable Funds: Once you send your cryptocurrency, it is gone.
  • Government Agencies: They do not accept cryptocurrencies.
  • Due Diligence: Always ask questions and conduct thorough research before sending cryptocurrency to anyone.
